A surprize hit in October 1978, this comedy/drama took the country by storm at the box office. Where I live in San Diego, California, (USA) it ran from Oct 1978 to 1980. nearly two years running..I must confess, I saw this film 6 times and laughed every single minute. If you haven't seen this thoughtful and insightful film about a gay couple who own La Cage aux Folles, a female impersonator nightclub, you owe it to yourself to see it. "La Cage aux Folles" is without a doubt one of the funniest films in the last 50 years..
