ABSTRACT
Beneath the seemingly idyllic veneer of suburban Connecticut lies a troubled landscape fraught with problems not unlike the ones found in "urban" communities suburbanites seek to avoid, a conundrum examined in Little Children through the intersecting lives of various individuals. Sarah, a sexually frustrated housewife desiring something greater than what she receives from her extant marriage, distant father and wannabe family man Brad, convicted sex offender Ronnie, and exasperated ex-police officer Larry come together in ways unexpected and complicated, led towards each other by their respective demons.
