REVIEWS

Review by Jeremie Filiatrault (posted on 1-Jul-2007)

One of MGM's more colorful movies featuring a cast of well known established actors who were at the top of their bill. The story opens in Africa where the great Baron has abandoned his 2 partners (played by Jimmy Durante & Jack Pearl) after being a burden to him. Once they are rescued they pretend that (Pearl) is the famous Baron and (Durante) is his manager. (Pearl) falls in love with a maid at Cuddles College owned by played by (Pitts) when the real Baron gets wind he appears and tries to expose them as fakes when (Pitts) finds out she decides to leave him unless he can prove to her that he is through with lying. Will he keep his promise or will one lie lead to another. This is a film that Ted Healy & His Stooges were given their first starring role throughout the whole movie and played off the comedy of (Durante) especially the scene in the hotel room..... Ted: Where do you want your bags Baron Pearl: Over there Durante: Wait a minute Baron, I smell Trouble..or is that you? (looks at Ted) You want your bags where you can see them! Pearl: I want the bags under my eyes Moe: But you already got bags under your eyes One that should not be missed especially the dancing MGM girls with very little clothes on in the shower scene;)
