ABSTRACT
In modern-day Pittsburgh, a man mysteriously and fatally snipes five seemingly-random individuals on the Allegheny River's North Shore Trail. Though the ensuing investigation by police detective Emerson initially fingers former Army sniper James Barr as the culprit, Barr scrawls the words "Get Jack Reacher" on a police notepad expected to contain his confession, leading the authorities on a chase that produces answers well beyond what any party involved could have possibly expected.
