A tragic accident impacts the lives of two unrelated individuals amidst the discovery of a shocking planetary object in the Solar System.

ABSTRACT
Rhoda Williams, a prodigious seventeen-year old high school student, receives a letter of acceptance from MIT on the same day that an Earth-like planet known as "Earth 2" is discovered in the Solar System. After celebrating with her friends that same night, Rhoda crashes her car into a vehicle driven by composer John Burroughs, killing his wife and child. Sent to prison and denied entry into college, Rhoda attempts to put her life back together upon her release, leading to an unlikely emotional encounter with John and the mirror-image Earth.
