ABSTRACT
Whiz kid Milo Hoffman, recent Stanford graduate, happens upon the apparent job offer of a lifetime when Portland, Oregon-based NURV CEO Gary Winston hires him to help the hegemonic conglomerate finish work on a groundbreaking communications network called Synapse. Suspicious tragedy strikes Milo's friend and idealistic fellow graduate Teddy Chin, turning his desirable line of work into a nightmare overnight as he learns of Gary's disquieting monopolistic business tactics.
