Fletcher Christian leads a mutiny against disciplinarian Capt. Bligh, as they return to England from Tahiti. Solid performance by Brando, except for the accent. Received Oscar 7 nominations including Best Picture, Best Cinematography, Best Set Decoration, and Best Score. Remake of Mutiny on the Bounty (1935), directed by Lewis Milestone who replaced Carol Reed during filming; Milestone's final film. Not at all successful at the box office.
