A futuristic spaceship fleet seeking answers concerning the origins of humanity makes a disturbing discovery after landing in a distant world.

Ridley Scott directs and co-produces this sci-fi thriller about the Prometheus, a scientific vessel in 2089 that, after the discovery of an ancient star map in Scotland that seems to serve as an invitation from humanity's antecedents, embarks on a four-year journey to a far-off extraterrestrial realm in the hopes of discerning their whereabouts. A series of strange and horrifying happenings that transpire after their successful landing in said realm, however, turn a fact-finding mission into a terrifying discovery that may threaten humanity's continued existence. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
