ABSTRACT
Changez, a prodigious Princeton graduate looking to make a name for himself on Wall Street, witnesses his life getting thrown for a curve when the attacks of September 11 transpire while he is away on a business-related excursion in the Philippines. Subjected to an automatic strip-search upon arriving back in New York City, Changez finds his heretofore positive opinion of his adopted homeland subject to sudden change when he is forced to adjust to the realities of a society now viewing its Middle Eastern denizens with marked suspicion.
