Clackamas County, Multnomah County, Washington County Founded 1847 by Albert Alonzo Durham as Oswego, naming it after Oswego, NY. Upon annexation of Lake Grove in 1960, the combined town was renamed Lake Oswego. There is no body of water called Lake Oswego but the present city completely surrounds Oswego Lake, before 1913 known as Sucker Lake.
