Iraq Study Group
GROUP
A highly-publicized blue-ribbon group formed in 2006 to assess what is happening in Iraq and determine possible exit strategies. Operated under the aegis of the US Institute of Peace, though with the consent of the US Congress and White House. A report was released after the 2006 election, its recommendations largely ignored.
Also called the Baker-Hamilton Commission.
Co-Chairmen: James Baker and Lee H. Hamilton.
