ORGANIZATION

Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

Social interests organization, founded 1970 by Wade Rathke and Gary Delgado, and noted for successful voter registration drives and lobbying for minimum wage increases at the state and national level. The group's national offices were disbanded in 2010, after its reputation and funding were damaged by widely-aired videos made by James O'Keefe and released by Andrew Breitbart. Filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy on 2 November 2010.
