ORGANIZATION
Organization to alleviate poverty of children living in Northern California. "The Foundation was established in 1956 through a bequest from S. H. Cowell. The value of the original bequest was $12.5 million. Since 1956, the Foundations Board of Directors has approved 3,539 grants and paid out $196,953,904 in grants to nonprofit organizations and K-12 public schools in Northern California. The Foundation has also made real estate gifts, program related investments and other loans totaling $6,068,826."
