Eric Andersen established himself as part of the Cambridge folk scene in the early 1960s, where he performed alongside musicians such as Joan Baez and Phil Ochs. His music, while not as well-known as some of his contemporaries, continues to find admirers amongst both musicians and critics. His album Blue River is widely regarded as one of the classic folk recordings of the 1970s.
In the 1980s Andersen relocated to Norway and founded his own record label, although he has remained active in the States as well.
