Executive summary: 7th Earl of Lucan, murderer Military service: British Army (Coldstream Guards, 1953-55, 2nd Lt.) Had a severe gambling problem, sometimes losing as much as £10,000 in a single sitting. Bingham brutally murdered the family's nanny, Sandra Eleanor Rivett, with a lead pipe in 1974 and promptly disappeared, his own fate a possible suicide though there are rumors of a life abroad. In 2016, Bingham was declared legally dead, and son George assumed title as the 8th Earl of Lucan.
