In 1949, four members of the "Fabulous Five" -- Barker, Beard, Groza and Jones, joined with another former teammate Joe Holland to form a new NBA team, the Indianapolis Olympians. But in 1951 a point shaving scandal broke regarding a 1949 college game, and Groza, Beard, and third Kentucky player, Dale Barnstable, were arrested. The players had accepted $2,000 to win by an amount less than the 10-point spread. The NBA banned all involved players for life, essentially dooming the Olympians chances of success.
