With he and Lew Wasserman this company grew to be one of the major record labels, also going into television (Revue Studios). An MCA employee, Taft Schreiber, engineered a deliberate overpayment to Ronald Reagan for land the actor owned, making Reagan wealthy. After Stein became wealthy he founded Research to Prevent Blindness, Inc. in 1960, and also Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.
