French Impressionist artist who studied under Camille Corot and Joseph Guichard. She was the granddaughter of Rococo painter Jean-Honor Fragonard. Known for her paintings of women and girls, and also a printmaker. Morisot was friends with Edouard Manet and later became his sister-in-law, as well as the subject of Manet's painting The Balcony. She was friends with Charles Baudelaire, and left many of her paintings to Auguste Renoir after her death.
