Re-elected in the November 2008 general election. Pro-gun, anti-abortion, conservative "Blue Dog" Democrat. Supported the 2009 economic stimulus, opposed the 2010 health care reform. Defeated for re-election by Republican State Senator Alan Nunnelee in 2010.
