Niall FergusonAKA Niall Campbell Douglas Ferguson

Born: 18-Apr-1964
Birthplace: Glasgow, Scotland

Gender: Male
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Historian

Nationality: Scotland
Executive summary: The House of Rothschild

Prolific history author, believes the 20th Century is more about the rise of the East rather than the West. One main thesis of his is the apex of Western power at the turn of the 20th century. He also labels 1979 as an important turning point, far more so than the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 -- the earlier year saw the start of the turnaround of China, the hostage crisis in Iran, and the Soviet Afghan War. Ferguson is sometimes referred to as a neoconservative, but he differs with them on many important matters (including the Iraq War).
