Marble
BIBLIOGRAPHY
Metamorphic rocks, specifically recrystallized limestones or dolomites. In construction, the term refers to a wider variety of non-metamorphic calcium carbonate rocks which are polished and used as surfaces. White marble is valued for statuary, while a panoply of mineral impurities make marble available in a wide range of colors. Marble is not rare. Marble deposits exist on all continents, sometimes of vast proportions. Marble-producing states include Vermont, Tennessee, and Georgia.
