Remake of Freaky Friday (1976). Working mother Tess Coleman and party-animal teenage daughter Anna maintain a strained and oft-disconnected relationship with one another, borne out of an inability to "get" each other's respective mindsets. A fortune cookie from a Chinese restaurant one Thursday night following a particularly nasty argument forces the pair to swap bodies, leading mother and daughter to gain a better understanding of their sparring partner's situation in life.
