A young woman driven to insanity following her husband's unexpected demise develops an unhealthy obsession with a soap opera star.

Desperate to seek a new life for herself in the shock-fueled aftermath of the grisly ordeal, Betty comes to believe herself to be the former fiancee of her favorite soap opera actor, setting out on a long-distance trip to "win" his heart further complicated by the presence of sought-after drugs once owned by her husband in her car's trunk.
