Original Title: Dom över död man

Director: Jan Troell

Writers: Klaus Rifbjerg; Jan Troell

Based on a book by: Kenne Fant

Biopic traces the career of muckraking World War II-era Swedish journalist Torgny Segerstedt.

Torgny Segerstedt, a Swedish scholar and journalist of note in his native land for the better part of the early-to-mid 20th century, risked his livelihood and reputation on a battle against the rise of fascism and, eventually, Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party. Torgny's one-man fight, once carried out against long odds but ultimately winding up on the right side of history, receives a screen treatment in The Last Sentence, a biographical piece following the intrepid reporter's concurrent struggles with his integrity and an extramarital affair.
