Gore Vidal: The United States of Amnesia (18-Apr-2013)

Director: Nicholas D. Wrathall

Keywords: Documentary, Biography

Documentary look at the life of Gore Vidal, essayist, novelist, and screenwriter, and certainly one of the most prominent political thinkers of the 20th Century. Born into privilege though with a veritable train wreck as a mother, one of Vidal's early novels upset the New York Times chief literary critic to such an extent that the newspaper would refuse to review any of his further books, forcing the iconoclast to make his own way. Superb production in every respect.
