A suave advertising executive trying to win a bet predicated on falling in love happens upon a woman trying to do the exact opposite.

ABSTRACT
Benjamin Barry, a big-shot advertising executive with an eye for romance, makes a bet with two co-workers that he can successfully make a random woman fall in love with him in ten days. The prize, if he succeeds: rights to an incredibly lucrative advertising campaign for a well-heeled diamond company. Along comes Andie Anderson, magazine columnist and target of Benjamin's best, whose latest assignment -- "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" -- being carried out as part of an attempt to move away from human-interest stories presents a challenge for the charming executive.
