A baby human is discovered in the jungle by the panther, Bagheera, who brings him to a wolf family to raise as a cub; the child, Mowgli, later becomes friends with Baloo the Bear. When the man-eating tiger, Shere Khan, returns to the jungle, Bagheera and Baloo insist for his own safety it is time for Mowgli to make his way to the world of humans. Final animated Disney feature produced under the supervision of Walt Disney, who died before completion. Received an Oscar nomination for Best Song, "The Bare Necessities."
