Oblivion (10-Apr-2013)

Director: Joseph Kosinski

Writers: Michael Arndt; Karl Gajdusek; Joseph Kosinski

From novel by: Joseph Kosinski and Arvid Nelson (unpublished graphic novel)

Keywords: Sci-Fi

Earth has been devastated by alien invasion and largely abandoned by humans, who have relocated to Saturn's moon Triton. Those few humans rely on some resources of Earth. Tom Cruise plays an engineer stationed near Earth to maintain infrastructure who learns a dark truth. Oblivion is an awkward mash-up of ideas lifted from other science fiction; visually stunning, and if one suspends disbelief the film has some entertainment value.
