What? (7-Dec-1972)

Director: Roman Polanski

Writers: Gérard Brach; Roman Polanski

Keywords: Comedy

Italian summer romp starring a ringletted nymph (reminiscent of Little Annie Fanny) who narrowly escapes rapist hitchhikers by fleeing into a seaside mansion, only to be waylaid by the madmen who inhabit it. Filled with flowers and art (above her bed hangs one of Francis Bacon's Screaming Popes), the mansion is a charming riddle to ponder whilst the girl is separated from her clothes.
