[1] Most sources give 6-Mar-1949. Elfman himself contests this and claims 1955, which puts his birth closer to (and younger than) his brother Danny, born in 1953. As Richard claims that Danny is his younger brother (interview with Cheryl Eddy, San Francisco Bay Guardian, 30 May 2007), the math does not add up. A date of 1955 would make him about 17 at the creation of Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. MKOB's Gong Show appearance was in 1976.
