Christopher Lowell, a gay-seeming interior decorator, has managed to build a huge following with his home design TV show. From the beginning, Lowell's goal was to pour on the gaiety: "We started out very over the top because we knew we needed to get the Saturday Night Lives of the world spoofing us." (Which they did, by the way, in May 2000.)

Since then, Christopher Lowell has become a household name and even reached the pinnacle of B-grade celebrity: appearing on The Hollywood Squares. And like most Hollywood stars, that isn't his real name. Our hero was born Richard Lowell Madden, and was a member of the California Boys' Choir (as was Lenny Kravitz, incidentally).
