| Diane Kruger AKA Diane Heidekrueger
Born: 15-Jul-1976 Birthplace: Hildesheim, Germany
Gender: Female Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Actor Nationality: Germany Executive summary: Helen of Troy Diane Kruger is an actress, model, and former dancer whose ballet career was cut short by an injury. So instead of dancing, she became a top supermodel in Paris, where, in her spare time, she trained at the elite private French theater school Ecole Florent.
Her first name, though it's spelled "Diane," is pronounced "Dion," like Celine Dion.
She made her movie debut in the Christopher Lambert action movie The Piano Player, and has worked in several French-language films. She married the director of her second film, Mon Idole (My Idol), Guillaume Canet.
She starred in Troy, an adaptation of Homer's epic poem The Iliad. The poem is 3,000 years old, hated by high school and college kids everywhere required to read it, but the surviving cliché about Helen of Troy is that she's supposed to be the most beautiful woman in the world. She's the face that launched a thousand ships, remember?
Troy was supposed to make Kruger a star, but that remains to be seen. She has since appeared in Wicker Park with Josh Hartnett and National Treasure with Nicolas Cage.
