This was at a time when viruses were not a problem, so the problem had to be created -- and at least one virus, Virus-B, was written with McAfee money. After taking McAfee Inc. public in 1992 (now owned by Network Associates, or NAI), John McAfee founded a new company, Tribal Voice, and released a social networking/chat product called PowWow. McAfee sold out of Tribal Voice at some point, and it has since folded. He now practices and teaches yoga.
