ABSTRACT
Aeronautical engineer Tim Thomas inadvertently causes a horrific seven-car accident whilst texting at the wheel one day, leading to the deaths of six strangers and then-fiancee Sarah Jenson. Unable to cope with his grave misdeed, Tim assumes the identity of brother Ben, an IRS field agent, using his credentials to select seven recipients of his organs to be assisted upon his planned suicide, running into unexpected trouble along the way when he falls in love with a woman suffering from a congenital heart ailment. Described as "grim and morose" by a number of critics, Seven Pounds nonetheless managed to be a hit at the box office.
