ABSTRACT
Philip is an unpleasant, self-absorbed writer, unmistakably talented yet prone to coming off as a jerk in most social situations. Time spent berating various former associates and alienating girlfriend Ashley ives way to a meeting with idolized novelist Ike Zimmerman; eager to please his personal hero, Philip is invited to spend time at Ike's secluded summer estate, taking advantage of a golden opportunity to focus on and soothe his own ego.
