The Patriot (27-Jun-2000)

Director: Roland Emmerich

Writer: Robert Rodat

Music by: John Williams

Producers: Dean Devlin; Mark Gordon; Gary Levinsohn

Keywords: Action/Adventure, American Revolution, Revenge

A widowed colonial farmer in South Carolina leads a militia against the British following the murder of one of his sons. Oddly titled film, as the protagonist is a man bent on revenge, not at all motivated by patriotism. For simple entertainment, The Patriot will more than suffice, but as actual history, it is complete nonsense. Received three Oscar nominations including Best Cinematography and Best Score.
