Film adaptation of the Philip K. Dick novel of the same name centers on an undercover cop's struggle with a dangerous drug dominating the streets.

The United States has lost the War on Drugs, leading to the formation of a police state borne out of paranoia over criminal activity the government failed to contain. Caught up in the insanity is Bob Arctor, a cop tasked with spying on those around him whose addiction to a hallucinogenic drug making its rounds in the country gradually overtakes his life.
