REVIEWS

Review by Doug Broughman (posted on 12-Dec-2008)

This was a made for TV movie that is a must see for me every year. The story takes place in depression era Virgina, with the Walton family. (This movie could be called the pilot for the TV series, THE WALTON'S. In fact, all of the children in this movie went on to play their same rolls in the TV series.) There is a snowstorm Christmas Eve, and the Walton family is worried about their father making the long journey home for Christmas safely. Patricia Neal gets top billing in the movie and a young Richard Thomas makes one of his first silver screen appearances. This is a great movie for getting the family together and watching over the Holidays.
