According to the Corona PD police report, on November 27, 1993 Congressman Ken Calvert was observed sitting in his car after midnight with a prostitute's head in his lap. During his approach, the officer witnessed Calvert "placing his penis into his unzipped dress slacks." For nearly a year, Calvert claimed that the incident had never happened, until a court order made the police report public. He has been re-elected to Congress every two years, ever since.

In 2007, as ranking member of the House Subcommittee on Space & Aeronautics, Committee on Science & Technology, Rep Calvert proposed a bill that he promised would "stimulate creative space advertising concepts".
