Born in England, raised in Wales, though moved to the United States as a teenager. In film, Malet frequently played characters much older than he is. His best known role is probably the voice of chemist-mouse Mr. Ages in The Secret of NIMH, the quirky 1982 animated-rat classic. He enjoys gardening and cooking, making his home in Santa Monica, California.
