| Colin Farrell AKA Colin James Farrell
Born: 31-May-1976 Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland
Gender: Male Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Actor Nationality: Ireland Executive summary: Bullseye in Daredevil Farrell's father Eamon was a famous soccer player, and his mother forced him to take dancing lessons. At 17, he auditioned for the band Boyzone, but was rejected. Farrell instead went on tour across Ireland with a troupe of line-dancers. While working as a dancer, he was asked to film a commercial for Cadbury candies, and when he received a hefty paycheck for a few hours work, he decided to pursue acting as a career. He traveled to Australia, where he waited tables, drank heavily, and made his dramatic debut at The Performance Place, an open-air amateur dramatics space in a Sydney park.
He returned to Dublin and, at his brother's urging, enrolled at Ireland's Gaiety School of Acting. Farrell hated Gaiety, where teachers told him he mumbled too much and would never be a success on stage. He dropped out when he landed a regular role on Ballykissangel, a popular Irish television show set in a rural town full of colorful characters. He stayed with the series for two years, then appeared in several small films, including Ordinary Decent Criminals, starring Kevin Spacey and Linda Fiorentino. When he first met Fiorentino on the set, he told her he had masturbated to her performance in The Last Seduction. His starmaking role -- as a Texan -- came in Joel Schumacher's Tigerland. He has since played a detective in Minority Report, Ben Affleck's nemesis in Daredevil, a macho cop in S.W.A.T., and a blonde-wigged Alexander the Great in Alexander.
Perhaps more than his acting, Farrell is famous for boisterous behavior in Hollywood's party scene. He met actress Amelia Warner at a party, and they were married for four months in 2001. Farrell describes himself as a "fairly lazy bastard." He is almost never photographed without what seems to be exactly four days' growth of stubble on his face. Farrell has dealt with chronic insomnia since the age of 12, and has admitted to long bouts of depression.
