A police officer is accused of a future murder in a world where officers possess the ability to arrest individuals before the crimes they commit transpire.

ABSTRACT
Washington D.C., once the crime-plagued capital of the United States, sees such unsavory activities nearly completely banished from its borders by 2054 thanks to a special police unit, known as "Precrime", working on the abilities of three humans to see into the future and arrest violent criminals before they engage in illegal behavior. When "Precrime" department head John Anderton is himself accused of a murder thirty-six hours into the future by one such individual, he seeks out the dissenting opinion -- or "minority report" -- of Agatha, a soothsayer working for the department who might hold the key to his exoneration.
