| Steve Bing AKA Stephen Leo Bing Born: 31-Mar-1965
Gender: Male Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Film Director, Business Party Affiliation: Democratic Nationality: United States Executive summary: Film producer and massive political donor The tabloids call Steve Bing a billionaire, but he's actually a millionaire, the heir to probably $400 to $600M in assets, his money originating from the Leo Bing real estate fortune.. However, his prominent father Peter Bing is still living. Bing donated $800K to finance California Proposition 10, an anti-smoking measure proposing to tax cigarettes an additional 50 cents per pack. He is also a major contributor to the Democratic Party -- from 1992 through 1995, he donated $6,525,250 in soft money to Democrats -- though in some instances has failed to file disclosures on this, resulting in a $25K fine against him. Gave $900k to Democratic candidate John Edwards' PAC in 2003.
Bing is most well known for his high-profile romance of Elizabeth Hurley, fathering her child -- Damien, whom he has reportedly never met. According to the National Enquirer [19 April 2004, p. 59], he demanded a paternity request, which came out positive. Bing allegedly has sued London tabloid Daily Mail for reporting that he hired a private detective to find dirt on Hurley. [Reported in the San Francisco Examiner, 21-Jan-2002].
Bing wrote the screenplay to Kangaroo Jack.
