Famous for his one-man-show stage portrayal of Mark Twain on Broadway, Mark Twain Tonight (1956) -- though he first performed it at Lock Haven State Teachers College in 1954. In the play's three runs, he has made over 2000 appearances. A later portrayal of Abraham Lincoln on television is also noteworthy, as well as his role of "Deep Throat" in All the President's Men.
